The Best Burgers You'll Ever Eat!

(This recipe makes 2 double stacked burgers)

Ingredients:

1 large yellow onion, sliced into thin pieces
Butter
4 burger patties (you can make your own using ground beef)
Steak seasoning or everything rub (you can make your own using equal parts salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, cayenne pepper & brown sugar)
4 slices of American cheese
Martin’s Potato Rolls
Thousand Island Dressing
Sliced dill pickles
Ketchup

Directions:

In a large pan over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter and thinly sliced onions. Sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes). Remove onions from heat and set aside in a bowl.

Generously season burger patties with your steak or everything rub on both sides. Heat the same pan used for the onions to medium high. Melt another 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the burger patties. (If your pan is large enough, you can cook all 4 at once. Make sure to leave room to thin out the patties. If your pan isn’t large enough, cook 2 patties at a time).

Using tongs or a spoon, add some of the sautéed onions on top of each burger. Using a spatula, press the onions down into each burger patty and thin them out to about 1/3 inch.

Cook burgers for about three minutes and then flip to the other side. (If you want to toast your buns, now is the time to do so in the toaster! Tip: I also like to add a small amount of butter to my buns before toasting for some extra deliciousness! Cook burgers for another three minutes, then flip back and add a slice of American cheese to the side with the onions. Let the cheese melt for about 30 seconds.

Place one of the burger patties on the bottom of the potato bun. Layer with Thousand Island dressing, sliced pickles and ketchup. Then place the second patty on top and layer with toppings again. Add the top of the potato bun and repeat with the second burger. Enjoy!
